Handmade in Minnesota by Bridget O'Malley and Amanda Degener of flax, hemp and cotton. These are certainly some of the finest and most beautiful papers available today. The sheets are gelatin sized and loft dried, which results in papers that are exceptionally strong and have an amazing crispness. In addition to the natural colorations of the fibers used, some of the sheets have also been hand-dyed which results in remarkable warmth and depth of tonality.
All the sheets are made on an 18" x 24" mould. However, the size of the finished sheets will vary due to the extreme shrinkage of the flax fibers during loft drying. All papers have four deckles, 200 gsm and are archival. (The Walnut dyed and tow flax sheets may contain matter which does not meet with Library of Congress standards).

CLOUDY SKY
Three vats of pigmented cotton are randomly poured into the mould resulting in a swirling, cloud-like pattern. Colors range from white to blue to grey. Each sheet is unique and because of the papermaking process, both sides of each sheet will be different. Price Series B
EGYPTIAN TOW FLAX
100% Egyptian towflax containing 23% shive, which gives this sheet its interesting fleck and slightly gritty texture. Natural.Price Series B
GALAXY
100% Belgian flax, hand-dyed to an intense black. Sized with gelatine and then sprinkled with tiny flecks of silver leaf. Price Series C
GRANITE
100% Belgian flax pigmented into a medium tone greenish grey. Price Series A
GREEN CRACKLE
A web-like crackle is achieved by coating the sheet with gelatine, then crumpling it before putting it into a vat of earth green pigmented dye (similar to the process and effect found in batik). Greens with darker green crackle. Price Series B
INDIGO FLAX
100% Belgian flax sheets are hand colored with indigo dye. Gelatine sized for added stability. Indigo blue. Price Series B
LAYERED INDIGO FLAX
100% Belgian Flax sheets are hand colored by repeatedly dipping them into a vat of indigo dye, This creates overlapping veils of color that give this paper its irregular striations. Each sheet is one-of-a-kind. Gelatine sized for added stability. Price Series B

O'MALLEY CRACKLE FLAX

PERSIMMON
Following the Japanese tradition, green persimmon juice is added, applied to the sheet and then smoked to set the dye. The sheet of 100% Belgian flax has a warm, pinkish brown tone which darkens with age. Price Series C
100% Belgian flax sheet is hand coated with several layers of walnut dye. Gelatine sized for added stability. Magnificent, deep brown color that has subtle variations due to the manner in which the color is applied. Price Series A
